Open and honest
If the project doesn't stack up, you'll hear it at feasibility stage rather than after you've paid for drawings. If something goes wrong mid-build, you'll hear it from us before you notice it. That includes correcting ourselves: our own older marketing gives two different figures for how much experience Tom and Rob have between them, so we've stopped quoting a number at all rather than pick the flattering one.

Solution focused
Renovations turn up problems. The question is what happens in the hour after one is found — whether it becomes a stoppage and a claim, or a decision and a way forward.

Clear on the costs
A free ballpark at feasibility stage before you commission designs. Detailed, accurate pricing and a programme of works at pre-construction. No figure appears on the final invoice that you haven't seen and agreed in writing first.

Programme driven
A written programme of works, a dedicated project manager whose job is to keep it moving, and a revised programme in your hands if it slips — rather than a shrug and a vague fortnight.

Work built to building regulations and inspected, snagged properly, and finished to the point where you'd photograph it. The measure we care about is whether clients ask us back.

A registered company you can check
Inspiring Developments Ltd is a registered company, active since November 2021, with both founders on the register as directors. Look us up before you ring us — and note that the address on Companies House is our registered agent's, not our office. We work from Unit 5 Upper at The Enterprise Centre on Porters Wood in St Albans.

You'll find no trade-body logos on this site. We're not currently listed with a scheme, and putting a badge up that we can't back would undermine everything else on this page. When that changes, it'll appear here with a membership number you can check.

Both directors are hands-on. Every single review on our Google profile names one or both of us personally — that is not an accident, it is how we run the company.
A WhatsApp group per build
We set up a dedicated group for your project so questions, decisions and snags get raised and dealt with the same day instead of waiting for a site meeting.
Clear on the costs
Ballpark figures at feasibility stage, a detailed priced programme before we start, and no invented extras once the scaffold is up.
You can stay in the house
Where it's realistic we phase the work and keep you living there — temporary kitchens, temporary plumbing, safe routes through. We plan that in, not around.
We work alongside architects, structural engineers, kitchen and glazing suppliers across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire — or with your own chosen designers and specifiers where a project already has them. We're happy to give early budget advice to architects' clients before drawings are commissioned.
